Mandatory evaluations will be held if the participant did not play with the City of Lincolnton Parks & Recreation Department during the Summer 2021 season or the Winter 2022 season. Evaluation date and time should be selected based on participant date preference - evaluation times are scheduled by age group. PLEASE select and attend the evaluation session that matches the age group for the participant. Players will only need to attend one of the evaluation days. Evaluations will be held at the Lentz Recreation Center Gym at Betty G Ross Park (800 Madison St, Lincolnton, NC 28092). If you are unable to attend either of the evaluation dates for the participant's age group, please contact the volleyball program coordinator (jbarkley@lincolntonnc.org).

After evaluations are finished, coaches will meet with the Volleyball Program Coordinator on June 1st or June 2nd to discuss rules for the league, league modifications, as well as team divisions. Once teams are divided and player contact information is given to coaches, coaches will begin contacting parents to inform them of their practice schedules.

Practices are set to begin the week of June 13th. Each team will practice 1-2 times per week (depending on gym availability after registration is complete). Practice days/times will depend on team placement - if you are unable to practice on a certain day/time, please indicate those days/times when prompted. We will do our best to honor these requests, but they cannot be guaranteed.

Regular season games will be held from July 9th through August 6th. There will be a tournament at the end of the season for each age group, the tournament games will be held from August 8th through August 15th. Regular season and post-season games will be scheduled on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings and on Saturday mornings.

Volunteer Coaching
Volunteer coaches are needed in this league. Their duties will be to lead their team during practice and games to better understand the game of volleyball, encourage teamwork and team building, and handle the safety measures required of them (as mentioned above). Volunteer coaches have to complete a coaching application that includes coach conduct material as well as information for a background check that is completed by the City of Lincolnton Human Resources Department. Head coaches for a team will receive a $10.00 account credit added to your account once the coaching application has been approved by the City of Lincolnton. This credit is given to a coach per team coached.
