1. Where do I pay my parking ticket?

Parking tickets may be paid at the Utility Billing office at City Hall, 114 West Sycamore between 8:30a-5:00p.

2. How can I get a copy of my Accident Report?

Motor vehicle crash reports can be obtained from the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles. 

Crash reports can be requested by completing the Crash Report Request Form (TR-67A) and mailing it along with payment to the address on the form. 

You may also go to the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles headquarters at 1100 New Bern Ave., Raleigh, NC 27697.  There is a fee of $5.50 for a certified copy of a crash report.

3. How can I get my home or business on a special check list when I go on vacation?

On the department’s page there is a link to forms for the Police Department. You can download the form for special check and either drop it by the police department or mail it in to:

4. I am in the process of adopting a child, getting bonded, or beginning work in a place that is requiring me to be fingerprinted. Can I get that done at the Police Department?

If you reside within the city limits of Lincolnton, Yes. Fingerprints are usually done between the hours of 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. Monday through Friday except on holidays. If you have any questions about fingerprints, please contact Lieutenant Matt Painter at 704-736-8900.

5. How can I register my golf cart to be operated within the city limits?

There is a link for Golf Cart Registration under the forms section on our website. You can download a registration form there or you can come by the police department to pick up a registration form. You can also download the City ordinance in regards to golf carts within the city and it will give you detailed information about the registration process as well as the inspection process. There is a $20.00 annual fee to register a golf cart. Golf Carts

6. Can I bring my dog to special events within the city limits?

No. Unless the dog is a registered, trained service animal it is not allowed during special events unless the dog is part of the event and listed on the special event application.
