There is a severe weather front expected in our area today. The following is a weather briefing from Lincoln County Emergency Management.

There is a severe weather front expected in our area today.  The following is a weather briefing from Lincoln County Emergency Management.

Weather Briefing Today 10/23/17

Heavy rain at times with lightning associated with this front.  Damaging winds are also anticipated in Central NC with sustained winds between 35 and 45 mph and gusts up to 65 mph. Limbs and weak trees may fall leading to scattered power outages and winds of this magnitude could make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. The potential for tornadoes is also identified within the southern & western Piedmont regions.  The front should move through our area by midnight tonight.

Lincoln County Overall – Moderate

Injuries – None

Fatalities – None

Winds – High!, with gusts up to 65 mph, gusty winds will blow unsecured objects around

Buildings – Low

Utilities – Moderate, with scattered power outages

Tornado – Moderate / Isolated

Flooding – None

Roads/Bridges – Down trees, Debris, and Power lines maybe in or across the roadway

Timing – NOW through midnight tonight!
