Lincolnton, NC – Lincoln County and Lincolnton City officials are closely monitoring Hurricane Irma and its path of travel. As of this afternoon, it is not anticipated that evacuation or the establishment of shelters will be needed in any part of Lincoln County. However, residents and visitors should be aware in mind that small changes in the storms’ path can result in greater impacts for our area. Lincoln County Emergency Management has notified the County Manager’s Office and Lincolnton City of what events will trigger the need for the issuance of emergency declarations and orders. Based on the current official forecast, we do not anticipate that those thresholds will be met and no recommendations are under consideration at this time.
