City of Lincolnton's Police Department will be hosting National Night Out on Tuesday Aug 2nd starting at 6:00pm

he 33rd annual National Night Out crime prevention event is scheduled for Tuesday (Aug. 2nd). In Lincolnton, the event is sponsored by the Lincolnton Police Department. Lt. Matt Painter of the Community Services Division says there will be a plethora of events this Tuesday in communities all over town including:

1. Republican Party Headquarters--400 Block East Main Street
2. 200 Block North Oak Street (Peeler Residence)
3. 300 Block McBee Street (Wellness Center)
4. 300 Block of South Cedar St. (Allen & Rosemary Hubbard home)
5. Rhyne Heights United Methodist Church – Madison Street
6. 100 Block Policarp St. (Child Advocacy Ctr. office) where Safe Kids Lincoln County will be doing a demonstration about the danger of hot cars.
7. Democratic Party Headquarters--West Water & South Gov’t. Street
8. Deaton Avenue (Greater Moore’s Chapel Community Building)
9. E. Pine Street – 800 block
10. Oaklawn Community – Linden Street
11. Lutherhaus Apartments – Office Building
12. Crestview Community – Tate St. & Rock Creek Dr.
13. Lithia Hills Community – 203 Julia Drive
14. Leewood Acres Community – Detter Road

National Night Out will take place from 6 to 9 PM and is meant to increase awareness about police programs in communities, such as drug prevention, neighborhood watch, and other anti-crime efforts and to promote good will between the police and people in the various neighborhoods.
