Contractors will be busy in the downtown business district this week resurfacing the cross streets and East Sycamore Street. The work starts on Monday, October 25 with the streets south of East Main (Academy, Poplar, Laurel, & Oak) and continues Tuesday with the north side (Poplar, Cedar, Laurel, & Oak). On Thursday and Friday, work moves to East Sycamore from Flint to the Court Square, including N Academy.

The City planned this project quite some time ago, and the long-awaited start date finally got a break in the schedule and the weather. 

Traffic will be rerouted as streets are closed. Please be patient as the work is completed and the new asphalt is allowed to cure. Streets will be closed and re-opened as quickly as possible as the work progresses.
