[ARCHIVED] COVID-19 Update for Lincoln County NC, 5/11/21

Currently 150 positive/active cases, 9,784 recoveries, and 88 deaths in Lincoln County. Governor eases state restrictions.

Lincolnton, NC –

The following counts are based on data reported to the Lincoln County Health Department as of 5/11/21:

  • Active Cases – 150

  • Recovered Cases – 9,784

  • Deaths – 88

The Lincoln County Health Department releases the current data for Covid-19 cases for the county. This information is current as of the date of this release and may have some differences with the state’s Dashboard due to delays in data entry or undetermined designations for some data areas.

  • In regards to identified deaths for Lincoln County, 36 are related to congregate care facilities.

  • As a reminder, the number of active cases reported on Tuesdays includes new cases received over a four-day period.

  • Continuance of control measures around the “3 W’s” is strongly encouraged to reduce the risk of transmission within our community.

The next scheduled Lincoln County COVID-19 data update will be released on Friday, May 14, 2021.

The City of Lincolnton suspended its mask mandate proclamation as of Friday, 5/7/2021, and urges all businesses & citizens to follow NCDHHS and CDC guidance. More information, resources & links can be found on the city website www.LincolntonNC.org/Covid


The NC Governor’s EO209 Easing of Statewide Restrictions on businesses and gatherings is effective 4/29/21. 

  • This order lifts the requirement that face coverings must be worn outdoors when 6 feet of social distance cannot be consistently maintained from non-household members. 
  • The order also raises the mass gathering limits to 100 people indoors and 200 outdoors. These public health restrictions remain in effect to continue to protect against the spread of the virus. 
  • The order becomes effective April 30, 2021, at 5 p.m. and will remain in effect through June 1, 2021, at 5 p.m.

  • Capacity limitations on all businesses remain the same as under previous Executive Order EO204, see the EO204 FAQ's for details. View all NC Executive Orders at this LINK.

The order requires social distancing protocols, sanitation standards, other public health restrictions, and NCDHHS Guidance remain in effect. 

A face covering is still required in all public indoor settings if there are nonhousehold members present, regardless of the individual’s ability to maintain social distance. Face coverings continue to be required in public outdoor settings if individuals are unable to maintain six feet of social distance from non-household members.
