New rules for paying utility bills in person, residents encouraged to use drive-thru, online & phone payments
City of Lincolnton residents are strongly encouraged to use the utility billing drive-thru & deposit box or make payments online or via phone to pay utility bills. To help protect employees and residents from COVID-19 spread, new rules are in place for paying utility bills in person:
- Utility Billing Department
- Only two customers allowed inside at the same time
- The entrance from the city hall parking lot will be locked; customers must wait outside if two customers are already inside
- All customers will exit from the front of city hall
- Utility bill payments are still due as regularly scheduled
Additional restrictions are in place at Lincolnton City Hall and other city facilities:
- Administrative Offices at City Hall
- All offices are restricted access, all guests must be escorted from the lobby area to all offices
- Lincolnton Fire Department
- Closed to all visitors and all public meetings & activities canceled
- Lincolnton Police Department
- Lentz Recreation Center at Betty G. Ross Park
- Closed and all activities canceled
There is no disruption to any City of Lincolnton services and departments continue to operate during the COVID-19 State of Emergency. The City is working closely with Lincoln County and the Lincoln County Health Department to coordinate COVID-19 response. Citizen resources and information is posted on the city website LincolntonNC.org and updated regularly.
