The City of Lincolnton will be replacing a water valve at the intersection of Main and Grove Street on Friday, November 10, 2017. In order for the work to be completed, the water will need to be interrupted for up to 10 hours. We will start work at 4:00 am but don’t expect the water to be interrupted until approximately 8:00 am. We hope to have water back in service by 6:00 pm.
The process is as follows:
- Set up detour and new traffic patterns at 4:00 am. This will take approximately 2 hours.
- Then cut and remove the road bed. Approximately 2 hours.
- Shut off water. Approximately 1 hour.
- Replace the valve. We expect the repair to be completed by 6 pm.
The detour will be as follows:
- The south bound lane of Grove Street will be detoured using Sycamore to High Street.
- The north bound lane of Grove Street will remain open.
- The east bound traffic on Main Street will be detoured using Childs Street to Grove Street.
- The west bound traffic on Main Street will use the east bound lane to get around the work zone
The water interruption areas affected are as follows:
- Bonview Avenue, west from Grove Street
- Sycamore Street west from Grove Street
- Grove Street from Main St. to Church Street
- West Main Street and Main Street Extension from the Court House (Citizen Center should have water),
- The end of West Pine Street
- High Street from Main to Bonview
- The corner of Sycamore Street and Government Street
- Roberta Avenue
Thank you for being patient and understanding during this repair.
