Our Parks & Facilities


Our parks and facilities include:  


Betty G. Ross Park

800 S Madison St
Regular Park Hours | 6:30a - 10:00p
The thirty-five acre park includes: several flag football fields, two softball fields, a picnic shelter, an outdoor basketball court, two outdoor pickleball courts, one outdoor tennis court, a nature trail, a disc golf course (eighteen holes), two playground areas, a brand new kayak launch and fishing pier, and is home to the Lentz Recreation Center and pool. Shelter and ball field rentals are available through the Parks & Recreation Department office.

City Park

1000 N Aspen St

The park includes: one multipurpose field and a concession stand with restroom facilities.


First Federal Park

201 N Poplar St
Regular Park Hours | 6:30a - 10:00p
The Splash Pad is open from May 1st - September 30th
The park includes: a splash pad, restroom facilities, and direct access to the Marcia H. Cloninger Rail Trail. Additionally, the park is only a few short steps from E. Main St. and the shops of Downtown Lincolnton.


Highland Drive Park

   Monday - Saturday | 6:30a - Dusk
   Sunday | 12:30pm - Dusk
The park includes: two soccer and multisport fields, a picnic shelter, a playground, a paved walking trail, and a concession stand and restroom facility. The shelter is available for rent through the Parks & Recreation Department office.


Marcia H. Cloninger Rail Trail

Motz Ave. & 1000 N. Aspen St.
Regular Trail Hours | 24/7
Walkers, joggers, strollers, and cyclists use the Marcia Cloninger Rail Trail to stretch their legs and relax their minds. The trail runs from Motz Ave. to City Park, and is approximately 1.7 miles in length (one way). The trail connects Betty G. Ross Park, First Federal Park, and City Park.


Motz Avenue Dog Park - Opening May 1, 2021!

   Monday - Saturday | Dawn - Dusk
   Sunday | 12:30pm - Dusk
The park includes: a "Small Dog Area", a "Large Dog Area", a "Training Area", and a dog watering station. We hope to add additional play features and amenities in the future! The Dog Park is adjacent to the Marcia H. Cloninger Rail Trail and less than a 1/2 mile walk to Betty G. Ross Park (public restrooms are available at the concession stand near the baseball/softball fields).
