The City of Lincolnton announces closures & cancellations, declares State of Emergency for the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on Monday.
The City of Lincolnton joined Lincoln County in declaring a State of Emergency for the ongoing coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic on Monday. There are currently no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Lincoln County.
Lincoln County continues to work under the direction of the Governor’s Office and follow the guidance of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS). The declaration places the Lincoln County emergency management plan into effect and ensures that the county health director can recommend restricted access areas or control other activities and conditions to maintain order and protect lives or property during the state of emergency. Importantly, ALL non-essential, social gatherings of 50 people or more are strongly discouraged at this time.
The declaration was effective at 10 AM on Monday 3/16 and remains in effect until rescinded by the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners.
