Lincolnton Police Department's Citizens Academy

We are currently accepting applications to our second annual Lincolnton Police Department Citizen’s Academy.  The academy’s goal is to build a better understanding between law enforcement and those we serve through a series of classroom presentations and community involvement.

Participants meet every Tuesday from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM for six weeks.  Participation is limited to persons 18 years of age and older.  There is no cost for academy participation.

Learn what our police officers do, participate in training and enjoy a banquet at the conclusion of the academy.  Topics covered will be crime prevention, police budgeting, crime scene investigation, police training / firing range, police K9, traffic stops, and courtroom testimony. The Citizens Academy is hands on with plenty of interactive demos. There will be ride-a-longs with officers throughout the 6 weeks.

Contact Lieutenant Matt Painter at 704-736-8900 for additional information or click on the link for an application.
