Boards & Commissions

  1. Airport Authority

    The Airport Authority shall act in an administrative capacity and has the authority to control, lease, maintain, construct, improve, operate and regulate the joint airport or landing field.

  2. Alcoholic Beverage Control

    This board retains authority to set policy and adopt rules in conformity with Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) laws and Commission rules along with the authority to buy, sell, transport and possess alcoholic beverages as necessary for the operation of its ABC stores.

  3. Centralina Council of Governments

    The Centralina Council of Governments (CCOG) is a state designated lead regional organization for the area in and around Charlotte.

  4. Chamber of Commerce

    The mission of the Chamber of Commerce is to provide an association of community leadership whose purpose is to enhance the quality of life and foster a healthy economic environment in Lincolnton-Lincoln County through business & industrial relations, community development, East Lincoln relations, promotions, strategic planning & membership development and public affairs and education.

  5. Downtown Development Association

    The general purpose of the Downtown Development Association (DDA) is to promote historic preservation, protection and use of Lincolnton’s traditional downtown area, including that area’s commercial enterprises and residences.

  6. Housing Authority

    This Commission is required to develop policy as well as monitor and establish controls for providing safe and sanitary housing to residents.

  7. Lincoln Economic Development Association

    The Lincoln Economic Development Association (LEDA) is a private, non­profit corporation charged with facilitating industrial, office and commercial development in Lincolnton and Lincoln County.

  8. Lincoln County Library Board

    The Library Board is responsible for establishing local policies for the regional library, and works to provide the best possible library service for Lincoln County citizens.

  9. Lincolnton Tourism Development Authority

    The duty of the Authority is to promote travel and tourism within the City of Lincolnton and to act as an agent to advise and assist with promotion of travel, tourism and conventions.

  10. Planning Board

    The primary objective of the Planning Board is to develop and maintain a continuing, cooperative planning program to benefit the people of the City of Lincolnton and its extraterritorial jurisdiction.

  11. Recreation Commission

    Made up of five members and one City Council representative, this commission acts as an advisory board to the City Council on recreational issues.

  12. Student Advisory Council

    The purpose of this Council, is to solicit the opinions of civic minded young people on matters that will serve their age group now and into the future.
